We sell your Crispy Batter Mix as a single 10-ounce mix, in cases of 10 Crispy Batter Mixes, or as a part of 6-mix, “build-your-own” cases with other Inspiration Mixes of your choosing. You may also purchase your Crispy Batter Mix in 5-pound bags.

We have your Crispy Batter Mixes blended for you in a fully gluten-free facility in Washington state.  All ingredients are non-GMO and free of gluten, wheat, casein, dairy, nuts, and soy.

Description

Ingredients: White rice flour, evaporated cane juice, tapioca starch, cornstarch, sorghum flour, potato starch, sea salt, baking powder (sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate, corn starch, monocalcium phosphate), chili powder, xanthan gum, and garlic. Ingredients are non-GMO.

Recipes

Crunchy light batter for crazy-good chicken, fish, or veggies! Fantastic onion rings!

Batter 

Oil for deep frying (follow deep fryer instructions)

1 cup of Batter Mix

1 ½ pounds prepared seafood, chicken, fish or vegetables 

1 cup beer, club soda, or water

Hint #1: add 1 egg to wet ingredients for crispier batter

Hint #2: omit egg for tempura style and use club soda. Do not dip in dry mix. 

Heat the deep-frying oil to 350-365°F. 

Add beer to 1 cup of batter mix and mix well with a wire whisk. Add the egg for a crispier batter. Set aside for 5 minutes before dipping 

Dip seafood, fish, chicken or vegetables in the batter, then dip in the remaining dry mix. 

Fry at standard frying temperature until cooked (1-2 minutes for vegetables, 2-4 minutes for seafood, 4-6 minutes for chicken).

Remove and drain on paper towels. Keep in warm oven (140°F) until ready to serve.

Discard any unused batter.

Vegan Alternative (Tempura-Style Batter):

Using Inspiration Mixes Batter Mix (288g)
Oil for deep frying (follow deep fryer instructions)
1 cup of Batter Mix
1 ½ pounds prepared vegetables (our absolute favorite? Onion rings!)
1 cup club soda or sparkling water

Heat the deep-frying oil to 350-365°F. Add water to 1 cup of batter mix and mix well with a
wire whisk. Set aside for 5 minutes before dipping vegetables in the batter. Fry at standard
frying temperature until cooked, about 1-2 minutes for vegetables. Remove and drain on
paper towels. Keep in warm oven (140°F) until ready to serve. Discard any unused batter.
