This Crispy Batter-Fried Goodies recipe comes with each pouch of the Inspiration Bakery and Mixes Batter Mix.
We use this mix to make Always-Great Crispy Onion Rings (secrets shared elsewhere under this recipes tab). This recipe can also be made vegan and that option is shown in the instructions below.

Equipment

  • Fry Pan, Deep Fat Fryer, Air Fryer
  • Mixing Bowls (2-3)
  • Baking Pan or Large Plate
  • Wire Whisk
  • Tongs
  • Spoon
  • Paper Towels

Ingredients
  

Batter

  • 1 Cup Batter Mix
  • 1 1/2 Pounds Seafood, Chicken, Fish, or Vegetables
  • 1 Cup Water, Gluten-Free Beer, or Club Soda
  • 1 Egg (if desired, for crispier batter)

Instructions
 

Batter

  • Heat your deep-frying oil to 350-365° F. Or prepare your air fryer for use.
  • Spread dry Batter Mix across a baking pan or large plate.
  • In a mixing bowl, add your beer or water to 1 cup of the Inspiration Bakery and Mixes Batter Mix.
  • Vegan Option or Tempura Style: use club soda instead of beer or water.
  • If desired, add an egg to make batter crispier.
    For vegan option and tempura style, omit egg.
    Whisk until the batter is well-blended and then set aside for at least 5 minutes.
  • Dip and roll the fish, chicken, seafood, or vegetables in the wet batter mixture, then roll the food in dry Batter Mix.
    For Vegan Option and Tempura Style, do not roll in dry mix.
  • Fry until cooked [if deep-fried, approximately 1-2 minutes for vegetables, 2-4 minutes for fish/seafood, 4-6 minutes for chicken].
  • Remove your Crispy Batter-Fried Goodies from your fryer and place on paper towels to drain, if needed. Keep warm in 140° F or greater oven until served.
  • Discard any unused batter.
