This Delicious Chocolate Cake recipe comes with each box of the Inspiration Bakery and Mixes Chocolate Cake Mix. We also use this mix to make Chocolate Lava Cakes, German Chocolate Cake, and Chocolate-Orange Cake (see elsewhere under this recipes tab). This Delicious Chocolate Cake can be made vegan and that option is shown in the instructions below.

Delicious Chocolate Cake

  • 1 Pouch Inspiration Bakery and Mixes Delicious Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 1/2 Cup Oil, or Butter or Margarine (sliced and softened)
  • 2 Tablespoons Vanilla Extract
  • 3 Eggs (large)
  • 1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 1/4 Cups Water or Milk of Your Choice

  • Flaxseed or commercial egg replacer


Delicious Chocolate Cake

  • Preheat your oven to 350° F.
  • Grease your pan(s) with spray oil. Or if you are using shortening, apply it and then lightly dust them with gluten-free flour
  • Vegan Option: follow the instructions on your egg-replacer package. Or, if using flaxseed, measure out 3 tablespoons flaxseed and 9 tablespoons water. Grind the flax seeds into a fine powder. If you have pre-ground flaxseed, 2 1/2 tablespoons should work. Combine the flaxseed and water and then whisk until the mixture becomes gelatinous. Substitute for the eggs in the next step.
  • Using your mixer, cream your oil, butter, or margarine with the vanilla extract. Add your water or milk, eggs, and apple cider vinegar. Blend this mixture on low for about 1 minute and until well-mixed. Butter will cause the mixture to be chunky.
  • Add the Inspiration Bakery and Mixes Delicious Cake Mix to the wet ingredients and then beat on low until the ingredients are well-mixed.
  • Scrape the bowl and then blend your cake batter on medium high for 1-2 minutes and it is well blended.
  • Pour your cake batter into your prepared baking pans. Use a spatula or spoon to scape out any remaining batter into the pans.
  • Put your pans in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the cake comes out fairly clean.
  • Cool you pans for 10 minutes on a wire rack. Then turn the cake out onto parchment paper spread on your wire rack.
  • Cool your Delicious Chocolate Cake thoroughly before icing.
